Sony has introduced the X505 in Japan, a computer that is .34 inches thin and is the lightest in the world at only 1.7 pounds.

It is Encased in carbon fiber for strength and has a 20-gigabyte hard drive and a 1-gighertz Intel Centrino processor. Sony has also announced that a 1.8-pound version with a carbon-nickel case will hit our shores in late June will be the lightest in notebook pc in North America. All these innovations won't come cheap however ($2,999).
