Def Jam Enterprises Launches Def Jam Mobile

Def Jam Enterprises which is owned by serial hip hop entrepreneur Russell Simmons and co-founder Lyor Cohen, has Launched Def Jam Mobile in partnership with AG Interactive, the new media subsidiary of greeting card giant American Greetings.

Def Jam Mobile, will provide wireless services for the Hip-Hop consumer which will include ring tones and daily news from website AllHipHop.com, Reverend Run's Daily Affirmations, Russell Simmons' Hip Hop Laws of Success and Simmons/Lathan's History Makers.

"The hip hop lifestyle has proven to be a global financial powerhouse," Simmons said. "The launch of the Def Jam Mobile represents more than music. It represents the entire hip hop lifestyle including games, film, television, video, comedy, sports, fashion and news."

The service will also be offering “Sportz Tonez," which will feature an array of sports stars including the New York Knicks’ point guard Stephon Marbury, the Boston Red Sox slugger David Ortiz, the Dallas Cowboy’s safety Roy Williams, and the Minnesota Twins’ outfielder Torii Hunter.

Def Jam Mobile has also signed artists to produce new tunes solely for mobile phones to go along with licensed content from Def Jam Music and other labels.

Simmons Hip Hop Summit Action Network is currently travel around the U.S. preaching the importance of building credit and the basics of banking, wealth building, home ownership, auto financing debt management and entrepreneurship to the hip hop generation.
