World's Most Expensive Watches

Forbes magazine has compiled a list of the World's Most Expensive Watches for the person who has everything. Topping the list is a watch from the world's oldest watch manufacture in continuous activity since its founding in 1755.

Tour de l'Ile $1.5 million

Grave's Patek Philippe 1933 $11 million

For it's 250th anniversary Vacheron Constantin is launching a special commemorative collection which includes the most expensive watch on the Forbes list. The Tour de l'Ile which has 834 separate parts and 16 complications, including tourbillon, power reserve, striking-mechanism torque, moon phase, perpetual calendar, sunrise time, leap-year indicator, sunset time, sky chart and others, it has taken seven years to development and three years to assembly. It is the most complicated double-face watch ever made. At $1.5 million, it's one of the most expensive timepiece you can buy. There are only 7 of these watches available.

The world's most expensive watch which was sold for $11 million by Sotheby's in 1999 was commissioned by Henry Graves Jr., and manufactured by Patek Philippe. Completed in 1933 it took three years to design and five years to produce. The watch had a different horological function for each hour of the day and included a chart of the nighttime sky over Graves' home in New York.
