RS Information Systems Names New Chief Operating Officer

Cass G. Panciocco, a senior executive with 25 years of operational responsibility for high-profile technology contracts with federal agencies, has been named chief operating officer of RS Information Systems, Inc. (RSIS).

The announcement was made by Rodney P. Hunt, the company’s president and chief executive officer who also had been serving as chief operating officer. Hunt has shed the COO role to focus on acquisition and growth strategies with Executive Vice President Ron Trowbridge.

“Cass is an enormously accomplished technology services executive,” Hunt said. “He has a special ability to leverage corporate resources and technologies to meet each customer’s unique requirements. In the Government services market nothing is more important than sustained excellence. Cass excels at ensuring that RSIS continually meets the highest standards of performance.”

Panciocco joined RSIS in 2004 and has been senior vice president of the Defense Programs Division, responsible for a nationwide portfolio of customers that includes the Space Information and Development Center in Colorado Springs; Air Force Materiel Command in Dayton, Ohio; and Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency and Office of Naval Research, both in Arlington, Va.

As RSIS chief operating officer, Panciocco will lead the company’s three operating divisions, which include the Civilian Programs Division and Science & Engineering Division as well as Defense Programs. Together, they produced $363 million in revenue last year from nearly 100 prime contracts and 30 subcontracts.

In previous executive positions, Panciocco was in charge of technology programs for General Dynamics – Network Systems, SIGNAL Corp. (prior to its acquisition by Veridian), and Comprehensive Technologies, Inc.

Panciocco holds a Master’s degree in Computer Systems Management from University of Maryland and a Bachelor’s degree in Resource Economics from University of Massachusetts.

A midsized firm, RSIS provides advanced technical and business solutions in information assurance, systems engineering, telecommunications, scientific support and management consulting. The company is ranked by Washington Technology as the 35th largest federal technology services contractor nationally.
