Jay-Z to Open $20 Million Las Vegas Club

Hip-hop entrepreneur Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter has announced the opening a new $20 million 40/40 Club in Las Vegas. The newest 40/40 Club will be located in The Palazzo, a 53-story extension of The Venetian and Sands Expo complex on the famed Las Vegas Strip.

The 24,000 square foot ultra sports bar and lounge is expected to open on December 21, 2007 with a gala grand opening party.

"We represent what the entertainment capital of the world is all about, it’s only natural we open here," said Jay-Z.

The multi-level upscale sports bar and lounge will feature 85 Plasma screen TV’s for the ultimate in sports and entertainment and perfect for enjoying your favorite sporting event.  In addition to the main room, the new club also offers 5 exclusive VIP rooms that fans of The 40/40 Club have become accustomed to in New York City.  The interior consists of 24kt gold and platinum floors, as well as five, 40 foot bi-level bars throughout the club.  The space will also include an additional 3,000 square foot bar and lounge area on the outdoor terrace.

The flagship 40/40 Club opened June 18, 2003 and has become New York’s favorite and most popular sports bar and lounge and host to many of the world’s biggest celebrities and athletes.  The Club’s name refers to one of baseball’s most prestigious achievements.  Baseball’s exclusive 40/40 Club, which exemplifies speed and power, includes players who hit 40 home runs and steal 40 bases in one season.  Currently the club only has four members, Barry Bonds, Alex Rodriguez and Alfonso Soriano and Jose Canseco.
