How Small Can It Get? Apple's New iPod shuffle.

Apple today introduced a all-new 4GB, talking iPod shuffle, at nearly half of the size of the previous model.

The new iPod shuffle is smaller than a AA battery yet holds up to 1,000 songs, Apple said. All all of the devices controls has been (in)conveniently relocated on the earphone cord. Meaning when your head phones break you can no longer replace it with a third party headset.

The new Shuffle also adds a new VoiceOver feature that enables iPod shuffle to speak your song titles, artists and playlist names, as well as provide status information, such as battery life.

The third-generation Shuffle features a new aluminum design with a built-in stainless steel clip and comes in silver or black.

With the ability to hold up to 1,000 songs and the VoiceOver feature, you can now easily switch between multiple playlists. iPod shuffle can speak 14 languages including English, Czech, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, Japanese, Mandarin Chinese, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

The third generation 4GB iPod shuffle is now shipping with a suggested price of $79 (US) or $99 (CAN).
